The Office of the Mayor / City of Dallas has issued a Proclamation for the week of November 13-19, 2022, as Fraud Awareness Week.
State, local, and federal governments are frequent targets of fraud, and instances of fraud in state government undermines the good work and reputation of all state employees who complete their assigned duties with integrity and honesty and decreases confidence in public officials.
Increasing employee awareness of fraud, including the magnitude of the problem, and educating employees about fraud prevention, detection, and reporting techniques, is critical for reducing the incidence of fraud against and within the Texas state government.
See the document attached below for the full Proclamation by the Mayor of the City of Dallas.

As families continue to recover from winter storm Uri, the chapter would like to continue to partner with the North Texas Food Bank, Minnie’s Food Pantry and the Salvation Army to ensure that no family goes without basic life necessities such as food and water. It is our hope that you will donate to our Virtual Donation Drive so that we can continue in our efforts to support North Texas communities. Thank you!
Donations can be made online via the links below.
Salvation Army(SA)
Right now the most pressing need is possibly financial contribution followed by gently used blankets, coats, hats, gloves etc. To keep SA’s operations running smoothly, a financial contribution would be the fastest and safest way to be able to help during this unprecedented weather.

Andrea Prater, CFE Director of Community Outreach
The Dallas Chapter has been working with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), Salvation Army (SA), and a new partnership with Minnie's Food Pantry (MFP) and we are happy to bring our chapter members these opportunities.
As you can imagine, North Texas children, families, and seniors are in need of our help. Not just during the holidays, but for those who are currently affected by COVID-19. Aside from the increase in families needing assistance, volunteer groups are canceling fundraising opportunities in support of social distancing and many companies are no longer supporting offsite activities during this time to protect the health of their staff. Donations are dwindling as stores don’t have a surplus to provide as they did before. It is my hope that you will support our new Virtual Food and Gift Donation Drive so that we can continue in our efforts to support North Texas communities.
Due to our chapter not having in-person activities, you will now be able to make monetary donations online or make food purchases from an Amazon Wish List and have the items delivered directly to the NTFB or MFP.
The Dallas Chapter will be targeting these donations to be given to a needy family for Thanksgiving.
This year, we will be collecting funds to help needy families for Christmas. Please make your monetary donation by December 15, 2020.
The Dallas Chapter will be targeting and collecting items for those families affected by COVID-19. This will be an on-going fundraiser throughout 2020-2021.
On Friday February 28, members of the Dallas Chapter visited Feed My Starving Children in Plano to spent the afternoon as volunteer packers!
In just two hours, the final session numbers included 110 boxes that will feed 23,760 meals to children in Haiti! Each box had approximately 32 packs of dried food.
Thank you to our Chapter volunteers and thank you to Feed My Starving Children for the work you do around the world!

The Dallas Chapter of the ACFE is proud to be celebrating its 30th program year of providing local CFEs with network and education opportunities! We're also happy to celebrate the 30th Annual DFW Fraud Conference on May 8, 2020!
As part of this, the Dallas Chapter will be recognizing local CFEs who have made a significant impact on the anti-fraud profession and the DFW community during the 30-year history of the chapter.
And we want to hear from you! If you know of a CFE who deserves to be recognized at the May conference, please contact president@dallasacfe.org with their name and information on why you've nominated them.
Those recognized will be invited to the conference and (schedule permitting) be invited to join a panel to discuss the history of the anti-fraud profession in North Texas.
We hope this program will be a meaningful way to honor those in the profession who have shaped the community and the careers of those that have come since.
Members of the Dallas Chapter once again participated in KERA's Winter Membership Drive last Wednesday, December 11. Members took to the phone lines to process donations to support KERA's public broadcasting programs and appeared live on the air throughout the evening!
The ACFE Dallas Chapter is proud to have partnered with KERA for a number of years.
